Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or take a picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Estimated annual cost

The frequency and total number of sessions will vary based on your individual needs and goals, which will be determined together. As a general estimate:

Weekly sessions (52 sessions/year): approximately $10,400
Biweekly sessions (26 sessions/year): approximately $5,200
Monthly sessions (12 sessions/year): approximately $2,400

These are estimates only. Your actual costs may be higher or lower depending on the services you receive and how long we work together.

This estimate is not a contract and does not require you to obtain services.
This Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unforeseen costs that may arise during treatment.
This estimate applies to clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use their insurance. If you are using insurance, your costs will be determined by your plan.
If you are using insurance I am in-network with (see the full list by state on the Fees & Insurance page), your copay or cost-sharing amount may differ. Contact your insurer for your specific benefits.

Disputing a Bill

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
